Winter

For those who hold their office outdoors, it’s been a long, cold, wet, winter; slowly, slowly we are emerging into spring. It is late this year. After a lengthy period of the most dire working conditions I can remember one can only hope we are in lieu of fine weather and maybe even a summer?

Frosts most mornings still into late March and day time temperatures not getting into double figures mean plants are slow to awaken and buds stay dormant. This is no bad thing that tender growth is been held back but leaves one gasping for warmth with worn cracked hands.

After finishing a large scale terracing job at the end of last year we’ve ploughed through the dark months with sea-wind swept balconies…
lots of winter pruning…
Made a bird feeding station…
Holm oak pollarding…
And making vertical succulent planters which can be made to order.
